Marketing Levy Bylaws
In the Spring 2023, Marketing Levy Bylaws were passed at the Town of Truro, the Municipality of the County of Colchester, and the Town of Stewiacke. Millbrook First Nation is also an active partner in this regional initiative. The regional Marketing Levy mandates all accommodation providers in the region to collect and remit a 3% levy on all accommodations sold to overnight visitors within Truro, Stewiacke, Millbrook, and Colchester County.
In early February, all accommodation providers in the region were mailed an information package that further outlines the Marketing Levy Bylaw, registration process, and remittance of marketing levy revenues to their respective municipalities.
